FAQs

Where?
Because I love to use natural light, I typically shoot outside whenever weather permits. I have several locations that I like to use, but I'm always willing to come to a location of your choice.

When?
I offer sessions on every day of the week except for Sunday. Early morning or late afternoon sessions provide the best light, but shady areas or porches can work at any time of day.

How long?
A typical session lasts about one hour. Arrangements can be made for longer sessions so please contact me for details.

What should we wear?
For newborn sessions:
A covered diaper or nothing at all works best. It's also great to bring a few baby blankets for swaddling. Newborn and baby sessions can sometimes take much longer than an hour, so patience is key. It may be necessary to take breaks for feedings, diaper changes, or if the little one becomes fussy.

For infant sessions:
Until your baby can sit well alone, avoid collars or heavy smocking around the neck. As beautiful as those outfits may be, they don't photograph well on a baby that young. A onesie in a pretty color or simple pattern is the best choice for an outfit that isn't distracting. Of course, no clothes at all is adorable, too! Make sure your baby has a full tummy. If you want great sleeping poses, try to book the session around their nap time.

For older baby and kid sessions:
Your kids will be more relaxed and happy if they are comfortable, so clothes that are cute and casual work great. I love jeans and bright, fun colors for casual shots. For dressier shots, I still suggest that the clothing be simple around the neckline. You are always welcome to bring several outfits.

For couple and family sessions:

Coordinate, but don't come all matchy-matchy!
Also, think about where you might want to hang a large print. It might be a good idea to coordinate your clothes to the room where you want to hang the picture!
